Kolkata Foundation launches ‘Adopt a para-athlete’

Kolkata based Civilian Welfare Foundation has launched the ‘Adopt a para athlete’ initiative to assist para athletes in financial need. Donors can transfer money directly to the athletes, starting with a minimum contribution commitment of Rs 1500 per month, for a whole year. The foundation also organised a ‘Walk for Paralympics’ on August 28 in Kolkata to spread awareness about Paralympics. Over 300 sportspersons, differently abled children, students, and members of various NGOs and welfare organizations participated in the walk. Seen walking this year were Paralympians Saheb Hussain, Gautam Dey, Ujjwal Ghosh, Aloke Mondal, and Montu Das. To know more about the initiative please call 9830167177/9163308675.
